Wed Aug 3 away Devonport City win 4 0 B.Waine (2), O Van Hattam, B. Kraev Australia Cup. In Tasmania. Waine two great finishes. Van Hattam nice flick header over keeper (ex-Nix Keegan Smith). Kraev scores header on debut. Kosta good in re-debut. Elliot and Sutton great up the flanks.
Wed Aug 17 away Melbourne City win 2 1 K. Barbarouses, Waine Australia Cup. Knocked league winners out. Kraev and Old very good going forwards. Kosta from close range, Waine outjumped big centre defender to head home. Team very compact. Sasse cameo debut. Melb scored late.
Wed Aug 31 away Macarthur loss 0 2   Australia Cup. Waine header hit post in first attack. Davila was superb for Macarthur. Waine great cross for Kosta, but saved. Attacked in second half, but late Payne error gifted them a second goal. Pennington headed shot off line. Callum Elliott good.
Sun Oct 9 home Adelaide United draw 1 1 Waine Debuts for Zawada, Ugarkovic, Mauragis. Windy but fine, 8375 attendance. Yan Sasse sent off after 25 min for dangerous tackle. Adelaide controlled the first half, but ten-man Nix started to create in second half. Zawada had shot saved. Kosta shot not held by keeper, Waineo slammed in the loose ball, delirium in the stands, shirts off. Sadly, after Sail had stopped a shot with his testes 3 min into added time, Adelaide scored from a corner. Great to be back after two seasons of no regular home games.
Sun Oct 16 home Central Coast Mrns draw 2 2 Waine, Own goal Sunny in Welly but only 7078 attendance.Started well, but lots of long ball to front runners. Both teams had a goal disallowed through offside after VAR checks. Ugarkovic ball puts Waine clear, he lobs the keeper. CCM come straight back with two goals, poor Nix defending. Late on a Pennington corner is headed into own net
Sat Oct 22 away Newcastle Jets loss 1 3 B. Kraev Jets three ex-Nix players all excellent against us. McGarry early goal, Piscopo and Sotirio assists. Poor defending in midfield esp. Kraev good strike got us back to 2 - 1 down, but conceded again before half time. Pennington on for Lewis at half time improved our game.
Sun Oct 30 away Melbourne City draw 2 2 S. Sutton, Barbarouses Five changes from last week! Bally back from injury. Started well, Sutton blazed over. City press jumped on two errors for two goals. Payne and Elliot struggling at the back. Subs made impact after 55 min. Kraev very good, had header disallowed for offside. Sutton blasted one in from 20m, then good play Ugarkovic - Old - Kosta great first touch finish.
Sun Nov 6 home Macarthur win 4 1 B. Old, C. Lewis, Waine, Kraev Only 6000 attend on a sunny day. Pink strip for mental health promo. Early chances given up to Macarthur. Moving tribute to ex-Nix captain Uli Davila whose wife passed away last year, on his team's first time to Wellington. Late first half header by Old after great cross from Callum Elliot. Mac equalised, but a superb Clayton Lewis free kick, a Waine tap in and great pass from Ball to Kraev sealed the win.
Sun Nov 13 home Western United loss 2 3 O. Zawada, Kraev Controlled the play for the first hour. Chances, Zawada tucked one home after 20 min. Earned a penalty, but Kosta's shot was saved. Kraev blasted home after a corner, but we conceded once, twice and a third in added time Diamanti curled a free kick in at the near post. Poor crowd. Now a month's break for the World Cup.
Sat Dec 10 'home' Westn Syd Wandrrs draw 1 1 Kraev In Wollongong. Defended strongly in first half and created several good chances. Zawada shot saved. Wootten header brilliantly saved. Sasse started, contributed not much, got confused by a ref's decision and got away with throwing the ball in from inside the touchline! Kraev great far post header from Lewis cross. Conceeded fouls in dangerous areas and one freekick sailed in untouched.
Sat Dec 17 home Adelaide United win 3 1 Zawada, Kraev, Y. Sasse Payne ball over the top and Zawada smahes in a volley after 1 min. Goodwin smoked in a superb freekick to level it. Yellow Fever protesting the decision to play finals games in Sydney for 3 years, banner, walkout of YF zone. Callan Elliot cross for Kraev header. Yan Sasse showing some lovely skills, scored a deflected shot from one of our many corners. Kraev penalty saved. Reds down to ten men.
Fri Dec 23 away Perth Glory draw 1 1 Zawada Kick off 0030am NZ time! Hot. Great passing sequence for Zawada's equaliser - Kraev - Sasse - Zawada. Zawada two other fine shots saved by Reddy. Callum Elliot excellent at right back.
Mon Jan 2 home Melbourne City loss 1 3 D. Ball Double header. Great early goal Ball with backheel flick from C Elliot's cross. City hit the post soon after with a similar shot, then scored a good header. Zawada several header chances wide, and robbed the keeper, who slipped but couldn't put it in. Very soft penalty to City in second half. Nix spurned more chances including a total pinball in the box. Kosta hit the crossbar. City injury time break away. Sunburn.
Sat Jan 7 away Sydney FC win 1 0 Zawada Early goal, good interpassing, Lewis ball in, Zawada beat keeper to it, calmly held off defenders to score. Also set up Ball who couldn't finish. Kraev also couldn't take a good chance, then gave away silly yellow. Second half Kraev second yellow, red. Then Pennington a straight red after an altercation with Burgess who was aggressive and only got a yellow. Down to nine. Ref awarded a injury time penalty after a cross appeared to hit our player in the back. Oli saved it, then another penalty for a close range hand ball, which was blasted over the top. We win, despite the ref and VAR's decisions! Rufer finally back in midfield helped.
Sat Jan 14 away Brisbane Roar win 1 0 Zawada Kraev and Pennington suspended, Wootton out with injury. Roar playing on fast break, goal disallowed offside. Sail made excellent save from break. After half time Sasse made a couple of runs and a shot, then subbed. Ben Old made impact running at defence. His cross found Mauragis, who sent in a good cross for Zawada to head home from close range. Parked the bus for last twenty min, Ollie Sail made several vital saves! Callan Elliot very good. Rufer and Lewis good in midfield.
Sun Jan 22 home Central Coast Mrns win 2 1 A. Rufer, Zawada Double header, following Nix women 5 - 0 win. Kosta hit bar early. Lewis cross from corner, Laws header back across and Rufer (finally after 107 games) scores. Brilliant Callan Elliot cross and Zawada tap in. Lewis knee injury. Strong team game in first half. CCM tried hard to get back in, got injury time goal. Elliott outstanding.
Sat Jan 28 home Perth Glory draw 2 2 Zawada, Barbarouses In Palmy North. Ground wet and slippery. Phoenix controlled first 30 min. Payne nice cross for Zawada to head home. Mauragis hard low cross parried, Kosta swept it home. Koutoumbis making inroads down the left for Perth, shot parried, headed back acorss for David Williams to head home. 2 - 1 at break. Payne sent off for a debatable DOGSO after VAR intervention. Williams with a fine near post header late. Perth hit the bar twice but we held on with our ten men.
Fri Feb 3 away Melbourne Victory loss 1 3 Zawada Payne suspeded, Wootton still injured. Controlled the first twenty minutes. Nice cross from deep Josh Laws, Zawada perfect looping header back past keeper. Half an hour in a mix up in centre defence Victory equalised. Kraev subbed at half time. Scored again and then a mix up between young Finn Surman and Oli Sail gave them a third goal. Ugarkovic had a few long shots.
Sun Feb 12 away Macarthur loss 1 2 Kraev Kosta injured, Lewis and Wootton still out. As per normal, we took the lead after playing well. Long ball from Laws found Zawada, he lobbed it to Kraev who buried it. Dominated for a lot of the half, but Uli Davila wriggled free in the box to score, so 1 - 1 half time. Awared two penalties in succession. Zawada, then Sasse, both saved by Kurto. Sasse poor pass sent them away to score. Davila then had pen saved by Sail. Late 3rd goal by Bulls ruled out and very late penalty shout by Van Hattam turned down. Frustratingly have now lost 20 points from winning positions this season.
Fri Feb 17 away Western United win 3 0 Sasse, Kraev, Zawada (pen) Super team performance in Tasmania. Sasse denied by good save, then scored a great left footer. 1 - 0 half time. Kraev was terrific all night, ran at the defence and scored a beautiful right footer. Fouled and Zawada stepped up to power the pen into the corner of the net. Sail a super save to keep clean sheet. Rufer dominant in midfield. Mauragis and Elliot bombed down the wings all game.
Fri Feb 24 away Central Coast Mrns draw 1 1 Zawada Ex-Nix McGarry scores against us again, twice for 2 diff clubs this season. Sasse has shot cleared off line. Sail stop a shot with his face. Kaltak sent off for CCM with 30 to go. We press. Four min into added time Zawada scores with backheel following corner. Another CCM player sent off for poking Wootton in the eye, then their coach sent off! We have played four away games in a row.
Sat Mar 4 home Newcastle Jets win 2 1 C. Elliot, Zawada News that Sail, Lewis and Ugarkovic all leaving at end of season. Sasse hit post early on. Jets pressed high. Late in half Kraev went up with keeper to high cross, rebounded to Callan Elliot who smashed it in. Very late Zawada header hit defender's arm. He smacked in the pen down the middle. Jets bounced straight back with break away goal in second half. We somehow survived quite a few nervous moments. Ball and Zawada very good.
Sun Mar 12 home Sydney FC win 1 0 Zawada in Auckland Over 10 thousand. Sydney hit post early. Sasse pass put Mauragis down line, cross to Zawada to head home. Zawada playing while on baby watch for first child. Parked bus in second half, dealt with Sydney attacks fairly well. Centrebacks Wootton and Payne very solid.
Fri Mar 17 away Adelaide United loss 1 5 Rufer No Zawada (baby watch) Playing well but own goal Wootton chest back to Sail who couldn't hold it. Conceeded from set piece scramble. Kosta robbed keeper and could only hit post of open goal. Sasse shot saved after lovely flick pass from Kraev. Dominating but… 2 – 0 down half time. Adelaide early goals second half. Header from corner, good team move. Rufer converted penalty after Sasse brought down. Created lots of chances. Lewis back.
Sat Apr 1 home Melbourne Victory loss 1 2 Zawada Controlled game well in first half. Zawada pressurized defence and lobbed over keeper from close range. Victory keeper Izzo made two great saves. Second half not great defending from corners led to two Victory goals. Laws and Ugarkovic being subbed off when playing well didn't help.
Mon Apr 10 away Melbourne City loss 1 4 S. Ugarkovic Played well first 50 min. Zawada denied penalty. Ugarkovic equalised after half time with a deflected hit. Kosta couldn't convert one-on-one. Laws sent off for collecting someone in head after he slipped. City piled on pressure after we scored.
Sun Apr 16 home Brisbane Roar draw 2 2 Zawada (pen), Sasse in Auckland. News that Uffie Talay is leaving at season end. Sasse trips player in box. Penalty. Ball tripped in box, Zawada converts. Very creative second half. Great short passing for Sasse to skip thru and score. Ball hits post 3 times in 2 min. Late Payne own goal from corner. Sasse misses easy header. Arrrgh.
Fri Apr 21 away Westn Syd Wandrrs loss 0 4   Poor defending, our finals spot is now well in jeopardy. Wanderers ripped through us two goals in each half.
Sat Apr 29 away Macarthur win 1 0 Zawada Very wet conditions. Need a win or draw to make sure of finals football. Sasse plays in Ball, shot blocked, Zawada belts home the rebound. Kosta goes close with good shot on the turn. Macarthur controlled more and more of the game, Nix dropped back and defended well. Ugarkovic and Rufer did well in midfield.

Fri May 5 away Adelaide United loss 0 2   3rd v 6th. Eliminated, without firing many shots. Zawada had a couple saved, Rufer hit the post. Goodwin scored, beating his man and shooting, later brought down by Elliot and penalty. Last games for departing Sail, Lewis, Ugarkovic and coach Uffie Talay.

Sun Nov 20 home Melbourne City loss 1 4 O. Goal Crowd of 5000. Debuts included Betsy Hassett, Paige Satchell, Millie Clegg, Michaela Foster. 0 - 0 half time, a couple of good saves by Brianna Edwards in goal. City opened us up after half time, too easily. Late goal Ava Pritchard (but credited as own goal), Charlotte Lancaster hit the post. Mackenzie Barry great in defence.
Sat Nov 26 home Western United loss 1 4 M. van der Meer Crowd of 1500. Sadly, almost identical game to last week. Quite a good first half, scored a scrambled goal (header) from a corner by Marisa v d Meer. Second half had a lot of poor passing out from the back that cost us, against a strong team. Mikaela Robertson useful debut. Foster and Satchell good contributions.
Sun Dec 4 away Melbourne Victory loss 0 1   Hot conditions. Alyssa Whinham collapsed in second half. Victory scored header from a corner in added time in first half. Kate Taylor out injured - van der Meer played centre back. Hassett and Knott worked hard in midfield. Cicco and Vosper did well in fullbacks.
Sat Dec 10 away Canberra Utd loss 0 3   Taylor and Alfeld still out injured. Emma Rolston debut. Poor passing in defence still causing problems. Pritchard shot cleared off line. Barry and Foster strong in defence.
Sat Dec 17 home Adelaide United loss 0 1   Unlucky own goal by Capt Mackenzie Barry. Better performance. Grace Wisnewski first game for 10 months. Alyssa Whinham not playing for personal reasons. Hassett and Barry the best. Vosper good at right back.
Tues Dec 27 away Adelaide United         postponed - heat.
Mon Jan 2 home Westn Syd Wandrrs draw 1 1 M. Robertson Double header. Even game, a bit shy on shooting when chances arose. Millie Clegg first start. Goal tapped in by Mickey Robertson after Grace Wisnewski header hit bar following a corner. One excellet save from Bri Edwards diving to claw a goal bound shot out of the top corner. Hassett and Barry again the best players, Chloe Knott and Robertson good too.
Sat Jan 7 away Western United loss 0 1   Played well, despite having lots of players missing. Nix pressed really well in first half, especially Mickey Robertson. Bri Edwards made a great double save in goal. A late winner to WU from a header off a free kick. Barry and Van der Meer strong.
Sun Jan 15 away Perth Glory loss 0 2   Kate Taylor back in defence, but early give aways from defence lead to two goals. Nix fired up but not getting game going. Rolston and Perth defender have a scrap, kicking, pushing etc. Both sent off. A better second half, with a few chances. Foster cross bounces off crossbar. Robertson trying hard to create.
Sun Jan 22 home Canberra Utd win 5 0 M. Clegg, B. Hassett (2), A. Pritchard, o.g. Nix women finally turned on a confident attacking display and dominated large parts of the game. Clegg sidefooted in after Satchell header cleared off line. Pritchard held up, passed to Clegg, shot parried, Hassett tap in. Knott to Foster, great cross for Pritchard to score. Knott hand ball, but Edwards saves penalty. Gomez nice pass to Hassett for good finish. Robertson shoulder off corner, leads to defender own goal. Five! Set up the double header for the men.
Sat Jan 28 away Brisbane Roar draw 3 3 M. Foster, Clegg, G. Wisnewski Postponed a day due to flight disruptions. Outpaced for early goal. Kate Taylor clipped their player in front of goal, red card for DOGSO (same weekend as Payne for the men!). They scored from the free kick too. Mikaela Foster scored from 30m free kick. Wisnewski raced back for miraculous goal line clearance. Down 2 - 1 half time. Great pass Wisnewski to Clegg, powerful finish. Wisnewski 20m strike and we take the lead! Adelaide come back again. Late in added time Claudia Cicco great pass to Micky Robertson to score. Oh what. Chalked off for offside.
Sun Feb 12 away Westn Syd Wandrrs loss 0 1   Taylor suspended. Conceded header from corner late in first half. Better attacking in second half, dominated without converting chances. Clegg played well on attack
Sun Feb 26 home Sydney FC loss 0 1   First game in Auckland. Grew into game well against a strong team. Hassett out with broken nose after 3 x 90 min with F Ferns. Taylor playing centre midfield. Wisnewski and Knott did well in midfield. Conceeded goal after failing to clear corner in second half. Fine saves from Brianna Edwards. Whinham back after a long while out.
Sat Mar 4 home Brisbane Roar draw 1 1 van der Meer Van der Meer good header from Foster free kick. Dominated, couldn't take chances. but caught late on the break. 1 – 1. Knott good passing midfield.
Sat Mar 11 away Sydney FC win 1 0 K. Taylor Satchell shot leads to corner. Foster delivers, not cleared, volleyed in by Kate Taylor. Nix controlled lot of game against league leaders. Edwards crucial save with legs. Zoe McMeeken late goal ruled out for offside. Foster, Hassett, Satchell and Knott all impressive.
Sat Mar 18 home Perth Glory loss 0 1   Perth dominated and scored, then the Nix dominated for rest of game, but couldn't score.
Sat Mar 25 away Newcastle Jets loss 2 3 van der Meer, P. Satchell Good pressure. Foster corner headed in well by Van der Meer. Jets eventually started to get going good goal to equalize before half time. Shithousery by Nix assistant coach kicking the ball away from Jets player about to throw it in.
Early goal to Paige Satchell after break, shooting Hassett's pass in, after Rolston goal ruled out for offside. Jets equalize when Kate Taylor deflects a shot into her own goal. Hassett shoots wide, Jets score late winner.
Tues Mar 28 away Adelaide United win 3 1 C. Knott, Clegg Quite a few changes. A Charlotte Lancaster corner headed in by Chloe Knott. Adelaide replied immediately, Cicco out jumped at far post. Pritchard missed good chance from Foster cross. Nix dominating but not making great chances. Georgia Candy safe hands in goal debut. Foster drive narrowly wide in second half. Emma Main on debut lovely pass to Clegg who rounds keeper to slot home. Adelaide hit post soon after. In added time great work from Grace Wisnewski assist Clegg shot that the keeper can't keep out.
Sat Apr 1 home Melbourne Victory draw 2 2 Pritchard, Wisnewski Last game of season. Early goals to Victory. 2 – 0 down at half time. Came back with Ava Pritchard and Grace Wisnewski goals to grab 2 – 2 draw.
