Tauranga City United 3, Plains Rangers men 1

On Sunday SLH Contracting Plains Rangers travelled to play Tauranga City in a catch up Bay Sportsmed Cup game at a windswept Blake Park.
Tauranga City started with the elements favouring them and put considerable presure on the Rangers defence. Rangers held out well though and later in the half had some good moments. Jaiden Ibbetson had a well hit shot palmed onto the crossbar by the keeper. Jamaal James received a nice pass from Petir Gray and his shot hit the post.
The home team upped their play after the break and took the lead after ten minutes. They doubled their lead and then Rangers hit back when Aaron Muggeridge headed the ball home. Tauranga City put away a third goal to make the game safe at 3 - 1.
For Rangers Petir Gray's good work on the right flank earned him player of the day. Jordan Ogilvy was also in top form in defence. This Saturday Rangers will travel to play Opotiki in the Bay Sportsmed Bowl.
