Rangers men 3, Papamoa Rovers 1
Rangers women 3, Wahine Toa 1

Plains Rangers had a very satisfactory weekend, with both their men's and women's team recording good wins.
Plains Rangers men hosted Papamoa Rovers at Edgecumbe Domain on Saturday in the final grading game before the Bay leagues are finalised.
In perfect football playing conditions, Rangers took early control of the game in spectacular fashion. While defending a free kick in their own half, the ball was headed back to young Rangers winger Kobi Wetting. Wetting controlled the ball off his shoulder and made a run out of his own half of the pitch. He beat several defenders with his speed and control, and then fired the ball past the keeper to score.
The Rangers team kept the pressure on the visitors with multiple shots on goal.
Against the run of play, the Papamoa side scored a good team goal just before half time.
After the break the visitors stepped up their game and over the next 30 minutes and made it more of an even affair, with several shots at goal for both sides.
In the last fifteen minutes, Rangers' fitness came into play. Live-wire attacker Elias Thomas skipped past the goalie to slot the second goal for the home side.
The victory to the Rangers was cemented when Ben McPherson scored the third goal for the Edgecumbe based side, after lead-up work from Hamish Wilde and Earle Tuhimata. The final score: Plains Rangers 3, Papamoa Rovers 1.
Rangers player of the day was Jordan Hoete who was a solid and calming influence in the Rangers midfield.
Plains Rangers men now wait for the new WaiBOP draw to come out later this week, to see who and where they are playing this Saturday.
On Sunday Plains Rangers women were at home to Wahine Toa from Te Puke. Rangers were looking to celebrate Mothers' Day with a win, and great weather set the scene at the Edgecumbe Domain.
Rangers tried out a new team layout in the first half and it took a while to get used to it, but they got it working. Alex Puutu Dredge capitalised on good passing to score the opening goal and put Rangers ahead 1 – 0 at the break.
The second half was an even contest till Rangers stepped up their work. Ella-Rose Bain put Rangers further ahead and in the final minutes Gemma Stuckey scored in her first game back this season. The final score was Plains Rangers 3, Wahine Toa 1.
Danielle Giordano was player of the day. She impressed with lots of running and some good headers out of defence. This Sunday Rangers women are away to Papamoa Icons.

Ranee's report:
Us vs Te Puke Wahine , 3-1
Lets start off by saying happy mother's day to the mums on the team.
Well it was a great day for football today, the ladies had a win on the mind and that is what they set out to do is win and they did.
The first half we had a new lay out on the field took a bit to get used to and it was working for us.
Second half we went back to our normal layout.
The whole both team were on par with each other till we stepped up our game and in those moments was when we put the ball in the back of the net and taking shots at the goal which sure was plenty of shooting action happening today. With all your great passing today ladies it resulted in Alex getting the first goal of the game, it goes to show what great passing can achieve. Come that second half we keep the fight alive and we sure Ella score the second goal for us. In the final minutes Gemma slotted a goal in and what a great way for her to start her season off with a goal in her first game back.
Well done to every one today in how you all played together and achieved greatness on the field.
Player of the day goes to Gio, what a game you have with definitely lots of running, some nice headers as well.
