Plains Rangers 5
, Otumoetai FC 5

Plains Rangers hosted Otumoetai FC in BOP division two on Saturday and it turned out to be a ten goal thriller!
Rangers were on the front foot in the first half and got on the board early. A ball from Hamish Wilde put Phil Ballingall through and he hit a high shot that the keeper couldn't keep out. Sione Lotu was the next to provide a through ball for Ballingall, this time his shot was well placed just inside the post. The visitors came back with a tap in at the far post after a good cross from the left. Rangers extended their lead when a good Kaleb Muggeridge corner was headed in by captain Jimmy Hart. It looked like Rangers might cruise to victory when a cross from Wilde was headed neatly into the goal by Lotu, however Otumoetai bounced straight back with a well worked goal. Just before half time Rangers scored again, with Lotu being put through to score, making the half time score 5 – 2 to the hosts.
Their visitors did not lie down though. They scored at the far post soon after the break, to put some pressure on the home team. A long shot was found the Rangers keeper off his line and with the final whistle about to blow, Otumoetai pressure earned a late equaliser. The final score was Plains Rangers 5, Otumoetai 5. Plenty of entertainment for the spectators!
Rangers player of the day was striker Phil Ballingall. This weekend Rangers have a tough assignment, away to second placed Tauranga City.
