Waiariki 0, Plains Rangers men 0
Plains Rangers travelled to Rotorua to play Waiariki in their final league game of the season on Saturday. While Rangers had the upper hand in possession, there were certainly chances at both ends, making an entertaining game. Early in the game, a Waiariki corner led to Rangers left wing Sam Christieson blocking two goalbound shots on the line before being cleared to safety. After fifteen minutes Rangers centre back Ian Gray hit the crossbar, also from a corner. After half an hour, Christian Wetting made a great diving save in the Rangers goal to keep the hosts out. Soon afterwards their keeper did the same from a James Hart shot. Just before half time Hamish Wilde bounced a free kick off the Waiariki bar. At half time the score was surprisingly locked at 0 – 0.
