Plains Rangers women 0 Opotiki 0

Plains Rangers women earned their second point of the season in BOP division one, with a hard fought game against Opotiki on Sunday.
Rangers started the game strongly and created several good chances early on. Opotiki got their game going and had some good spells of pressure, but the Rangers defence held firm with Ranee Whiting in excellent form. The game was scoreless at half time.
Opotiki started the second half well but the Rangers defence worked well as a unit and generally stopped the attacks before they reached dangerous areas. Late in the game Rangers put together some good raids, with Mishka Barry and Janie Soutar looking dangerous. The game ended in a fitting 0 – 0 draw.
It was a pleasing Rangers performance and the team were named collectively players of the day. This coming weekend there are two exciting home games at Awakeri. On Saturday Plains Rangers men host the high scoring Tauranga City team, while on Sunday Rangers women are at home to Te Puke.
