Plains Rangers FC

26 & 27 July 2014
Plains Rangers men 0, Te Puke 0
Rangers women 0, Te Puke 4

Plains Rangers hosted Te Puke United in both the BOP men's and women's leagues over the weekend.
On Saturday the visitors started out well in the men's game. Their moves were sharp and they almost took an early lead. A shot hit the post but Rangers keeper Christian Wetting managed to save the rebound. Rangers, with a slightly rearranged look to their line-up, got going and the game ebbed and flowed evenly throughout. In the end, the 0 – 0 draw was probably a fair reflection of the two teams.
Rangers' player of the day was centre midfielder Jimmy Hart.
On Sunday, there was a good battle between Alignments Plus Rangers women and Te Puke in lovely fine conditions. Te Puke managed a goal before half time and Rangers put some nice passing moves together. Shirley Patterson did some nice work, up front and in the midfield. Kate Robbie had great game in goal and Raven Hunia had a good game up the wing. Kate Simons made an impact when she came onto the field for Rangers and earned player of the day. In the end Te Puke were successful with some long range strikes and went on to win 4 – 0.
This Sunday Rangers women are away to Rotorua White.
