Alignments Plus Plains Rangers broke new ground on Sunday, recording their first ever win on the field in the BOP Women's league. Ranger's women have recorded a number of draws in the last two seasons and even a win, but that was by default.
That all changed on Sunday, when Rangers travelled to play Te Puke. Good teamwork and passing set up player of the day Kate Simons for a goal after twenty minutes. Rangers continued to play well, with Kelly Wilson strong in the midfield and a determined defensive line, to deny the home team an equaliser. The final score: Te Puke United 0, Plains Rangers 1.
Rangers will look to continue their good form at home to Rotorua White this Sunday. Meanwhile, Rangers men will travel to play Rotorua United on the Saturday, after an untimely break in their league.
