Tauranga City was the nemesis for Plains Rangers this
weekend.
On Saturday Gary Fowell Builders Plains Rangers men's team traveled to
play Tauranga City Relics. Rangers scraped together eleven players for
the game, including a couple playing through injuries. The Relics played
a well constructed game from the outset and were 3 - 0 up at half time.
Rangers had quite a good spell for the first twenty minutes of the second
half, creating a number of chances. Ben McPherson, Chris Dell and Barrie
Hawkes all got within range but were denied. In the end Relics were too
strong, taking the game 7 - 0.
Rangers player of the day was left back Patrick Lambert.
On Sunday Gary Fowell Builders Plains Rangers women also traveled to play
Tauranga City and were also 3 - 0 down after a messy first half. They
put together a good second half, led by player of the day Julie Reihana
who put in a brave performance. The final score was 4 - 0 to Tauranga.
This weekend Rangers men have no game, while Rangers women are away to
Papamoa.
