Plains Rangers v Papamoa Dou Bros 4 July 2020

Player of the day Kaleb Muggeridge left a trail of defenders in his wake for much of the game. He also provided the assist for the winner. Not bad for a young fulla! The reliable Carl Imlig, in the centre of defence, threads a pass through to the midfield.
Hard working Hamish Wilde wins the ball and looks to link up with the dynamic Jamaal James up front. In the background are the go carts that loved revving up for minutes at a time. Ref Michel Nillesen watches Rangers captain Jimmy Hart contest with a Papamoa opponent. The game was played in good spirit.
Matt Daligity did a tidy job at right back. When he had the chance he took a couple of shots on goal too. Sam Christieson played in front of Matt, at right half, despite being left footed. Sam put in a lot of work.
Xavier Bain was always a threat. Here he has over half of the Papamoa team mesmerised! Xavier shoots for goal in the first half. The keeper, aided by the woodwork on three occasions, did well to keep Rangers out for a long time.
In his first season for Rangers, ex TCU Relics player Ian Gray has been a cool head at the back. He also rattled the bar with a great header. Jamaal on the ball. His runs to the by line were fantastic and deserved to be finished off. Here he is closely watched by Papamoa's ex-Rangers player Chris Dell.
